Morocco Tour: 10 Days from Casablanca
Get picked up from the airport or your hotel in Casablanca. As Morocco’s largest city and economic center, Casablanca offers some great stops, starting with the impressive Hassan II Mosque, the country’s largest. Take some free time for lunch, then stroll along the Corniche before settling in for the night at your hotel.
After breakfast, drive along the coast to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the current capital. Visit the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. After lunch, continue north via Ouazzane to reach Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, famous for its white and blue buildings. Stay overnight in a local hotel.
Start your day exploring the colorful streets of Chefchaouen. Then set off for the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO-listed site full of mosaics, pillars, and arches. Next, head to Meknes, the former Ismaili capital, where you’ll visit Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, Granary, and Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Your day ends with a drive to Fes for the night in a traditional riad.
After breakfast, explore Fes with a local guide. Fes is known for its rich culture and deep history. Start with the Royal Palace gate, then wander the well-preserved Medina, a UNESCO site. Highlights include Bab Boujloud (the Blue Gate), Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the tanneries, and the Quaraouin Mosque and University—the oldest in the world. Later, visit the Jewish quarter (Mellah) and finish with a panoramic view of Fes from an ancient fortress. Return to your riad for the evening.
After a hearty breakfast, drive south via Imouzzer to Ifrane, known for its snow and chalet-style houses. Continue through the cedar forest to spot Barbary macaques, then travel on to Midelt for lunch. Cross the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and cruise down the scenic Ziz Valley, making photo stops as you go. Arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll ride camels into the Sahara, stop on a high dune for sunset, and settle into a desert camp. Enjoy Berber music around the campfire before a night under the stars.
Rise early for an unforgettable sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel, 4×4, or ATV (with extra cost). Today, discover the area around Merzouga, from dunes and wild lakes to unique mines and oases. Visit an old eyeliner mine, spend time with local nomads over Berber tea, and stop by Khamlia village to enjoy Gnaoua music and dance. After lunch, walk through a palm grove oasis before dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
Leave the desert behind for Rissani, the old capital of Tafilalet, known for its lively markets. Continue to Erfoud to see how fossilized marble is crafted, then pass through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves on the way to the dramatic Todra Gorges—a favorite spot for rock climbers. Explore the canyon and relax over lunch. Continue to Dades Valley, with stops at the unique “monkey fingers” rock formations and stunning mountain viewpoints. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a local hotel.
After breakfast, head to Kalaa Magouna to visit Rose Valley, best known for its annual rose festival in May. Pass through Skoura’s palm groves before reaching Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara and home to famous movie studios. Stop at the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a site featured in movies like Gladiator, Alexander, and TV shows including Game of Thrones. Continue to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas and the Tizi-N-Tichka pass with stops for photos and lunch along the way. Stay overnight in a riad in Marrakech.
After breakfast, take a guided tour of Marrakech. Explore highlights like Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Mosque. Wander through the biggest traditional souk in Morocco, then enjoy lunch near Jemaa El-Fna square. Later, see the Koutoubia Mosque and the lush Majorelle Garden. Afterward, check in at your accommodation and enjoy free time to explore Jemaa El-Fna on your own.
On your last day, enjoy a short tour of Marrakech before driving back north to Casablanca. Stop for panoramic views along the way before your final transfer to the airport. This marks the end of your 10-day Morocco adventure.
